Jump to Post. Installation was a breeze and reliability has been top notch. I have used D-Link at home for years on cable connection, and is the simplest to install, will practically install itself, and have had no problems at all. Linksys is the one I have used on a DSL system at work, and is more complicated to set up, but no touch after initial set-up. For a beginner, I highly recommend the D-Link. Yes I want it to go smoothly during install but would like some manual configuration as it is a learning experience.
My main thing is dependability, it can have issues at times but dont want the typical mysterious wanna work when I wanna or difficulty with lightning storms that plague ole Orlando. Also want to play with firewall security and was hoping certain routers might package a good one ranther than taking any chances off the net like zone alarm, although I've heard good things about it.
There are so many brands that are name brands for routers and some say they will swear by them and others say they will just swear at them. The prices jump this and that way making it hard to determine quality vs. Any more assistance from you guys is definitely appreciated. On a side note I just built my first gaming box and all went well.
The only thing that I'm concerned about is the temp, it's running at degrees inside the box according to bios. I can have the other temps for info later.
What is the exceptable temp or preferred compared to danger temps. The case is an aluminum Lan-Li with three stock fans 2 intake front bottom and 1 exhast out the back. The front fans still have the filter since it has a window and I have bumped the switch to high fan speed.
