Given the time frame of firmware updates, guess I will patiently wait and hope for the next update.
Ah, the solution is in plain sight. Simplicity in design, I really love that. One tap, and the display changes data shown. When navigating through a track, those times are really, really handy. I must mention, regarding Rhapsody functionality, I am puzzled. The Recently Added list does update with Rhapsody transferred tracks, at least it does on my target device.
I see it listed as a known issue. As for the Artist Information display, this function is not enabled on the Clip Zip in the first place. On previous Sansa models, the rolling alternate display mode activated by a brief tap of the center button allows you to roll between the current display, a parametric display, Next Track name, and Artist Information. I have tested the Artist Information data from Rhapsody, and the earlier players are dutifully displaying it as provided by the Rhapsody client.
There is an issue with MTP mode. The only way to avoid it is to use one mode or the other exclusively. In fact, you'll have a hard time finding an MP3 player that works with more music formats, especially in this price range.
The company's even optimized this little thing for the Rhapsody and Napster music subscription services. An FM radio is included, along with the expected array of auto-preset detection and FM radio recording. You can't do the radio pausing trick of the iPod Nano, but at half the price, who's complaining?
A separate main menu section for audiobooks is included, provided that you have any loaded on the device. Podcasts are lumped into this section as well, which isn't necessarily intuitive, but sure beats searching for your favorite podcasts within your music library. SanDisk also includes a basic voice recorder. The audio quality is suitable for memos or a hastily thrown-together grocery list, but probably not our first choice for dictating our memoirs.
Performance The Sansa Clip Zip has no business sounding this good. Don't ask me how SanDisk did it. I turn off the Zip and after a few seconds I turn on the Zip and I can see the album arts again. The six Ronettes songs have all the same album art but I can see only from five of the six songs the album art.
Could this I problem of the song title with special characters? I have a folder with songs from an artist. The album arts has x pixel and 67 kb. But the album art is not shown:. The problem were not the special characters. The problem was the long album title which I have truncated to three words. Where did you place the folder. It should be in the Album folder alongside the song files for the particular album you want your Zip to display the image for.
I placed the folder.
