Does that mean we would have to opt out of the Insider program to play SC2?
Since this problem is present on different Windows builds, I doubt that reverting to older Windows build will fix the problem. We just need to wait for Blizzard to fix this. Customize Sidebar Post a Reply. Would you like to download and install the patch now? Here are the things I've tried I'm running bit Windows 7. My first guess would be something to do with the internet you are borrowing.
My second guess would be with your network card, my third guess would be to reinstall sc2. Have you tried installing SC2 in safe mode?
Have you updated your drivers in safe mode? Have you called Blizzard support to get them to fix it? I'm pretty sure you can download the patches from a non-updater source, so the easiest solution is to DL the newest patches and install them manually until Blizz can fix you up proper. Thanks for the timely reply Chronald. I'm actually acting on your first suggestion now.
I've successfully hacked into the router at the house and I'm opening up some ports. I'll report back with results shortly. Ok, I was successful.
I had to hack into these poor people's router and completely disable the firewall. It seems all the ports that the updater and SC2 were trying to use were completely closed. Does the updater use more than port ? Either way, I would recommend just forwarding the required ports for your internal IP instead of disabling the entire firewall.
That way the poor people don't come back to a router with entirely open ports lol. Wow, I envy your laptop My laptop is only 2 years only but compared to yours, mine feels like it's 10 years old. I have the same issue with the patching, and I know that I have port 80 blocked.
The thing is that it's my ISP that blocks port 80 thus making it impossible to patch, and after talking to blizz support they don't have patches for DDL. Is there anyway around this? Other than switching ISP which isn't possible right now. On September 02 vitriol wrote: I have the same issue with the patching, and I know that I have port 80 blocked.
Loop like this? No a loop as in it says I need to patch then it asks if i want to patch, then it waits and the screen goes black for 5 seconds. The screen then returns to my destop and asks if I want to patch all over again.
